On Thursday, November 14, 2024, SixDegrees.org activated it’s Building Kits program in Richmond, VA in partnership with Bonfire. Bonfire employees and creators stood side-by-side building essential resource kits for students in Albemarle County, which will be distributed through Communities in Schools NOVA.

“These kits are more than just essential supplies—they represent a supportive community standing behind our young people,” said Heather Creelman, director of development at Communities in Schools NOVA. “For many of our students, access to basic hygiene items can be a significant barrier, impacting both their well-being and confidence in the school environment. With these kits, you’re helping us create a positive, empowering atmosphere where students can focus on their education and dreams.”

During this special event, 1,500 resource kits containing 15,000 items worth $20,979 were created. Bonfire employees and creators contribute 90 volunteers hours. SixDegrees.org thanks Bombas and Dr. Bronner’s for their contributions to the kits built during this activation.
