Digital Storyteller (Part-Time)

📍 Location: Remote

Job Description:

We’re seeking a creative and strategic Social Media & Marketing Specialist to lead content creation, digital engagement, and website optimization for SixDegrees.org. This temporary-to-permanent role is perfect for someone who can bring fresh, engaging ideas to our nonprofit storytelling efforts, optimize digital content for SEO, and help expand our reach through social media, email marketing, and website management.

Social Media & Content Creation:

  • Develop and execute multi-platform social media campaigns that align with SixDegrees.org’s mission and initiatives.

  • Lead user-generated content (UGC) initiatives and create compelling short-form videos.

  • Utilize raw footage, in addition to tools like Canva, Riverside.fm, CapCut, Captions, and Opus Clips, to produce high-quality, engaging content.

  • Manage and grow our social media volunteer team, providing direction and feedback.

  • Monitor engagement, track key performance metrics, and optimize content for greater reach and impact.

Responsibilities:

Website Management & Optimization:

  • Regularly review and update SixDegrees.org’s Squarespace website to ensure all content is accurate, links are functional, and pages remain updated.

  • Optimize website copy and images for SEO best practices to improve visibility.

  • Write, delegate, and upload blog content that aligns with SixDegrees.org’s storytelling strategy.

Email Marketing & Audience Segmentation:

  • Outline, delegate, and compile the monthly newsletter, ensuring a compelling and cohesive format.

  • Apply insights from the University of Maryland MBA team to refine email segmentation strategies, improving engagement and personalization.

  • Track email performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates) and recommend optimizations for future campaigns.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or website content strategy.

  • Proven ability to create engaging social content, particularly video-based formats.

  • Experience with Squarespace website management and basic SEO optimization.

  • Knowledge of social media scheduling and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Google Ad Grant, and Google Analytics experience is a plus).

  • Strong ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.

  • Experience with nonprofit marketing and cause-based campaigns is a plus.

Executive Administrator - Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Manage organizational databases, including Submittable and Instil, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Provide administrative support for programs, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives.

  • Assist in maintaining donor and partner records, tracking engagement and contributions.

  • Oversee document management, scheduling, and internal communication systems.

  • Support executive leadership with research, reporting, and special projects.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit administration, project coordination, or a similar role.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience with donor management systems (e.g., Instil, Submittable) is a plus.

Producer (Part-Time)

SixDegrees.org is looking for an experienced Producer to oversee the creation of engaging storytelling content, including short form, long form, social first, and other video experiences. This project based role is a great opportunity for someone passionate about social impact storytelling and video production.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality video content for digital and social platforms.

  • Coordinate logistics for interviews, livestreams, and other storytelling initiatives.

  • Work with external vendors, editors, and volunteers to ensure seamless production.

  • Manage video timelines, schedules, and deliverables.

  • Assist in concept development for new content series.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in video production, media, or digital storytelling.

  • Strong knowledge of editing tools (Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Riverside.fm, or similar).

  • Experience managing production schedules and working with creative teams.

  • Work closely with external partners and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.

  • Assist in research and implementation of innovative program strategies.
