Volunteers of all ages fill backpacks around long wooden tables in a rustic room

On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, SixDegrees.org facilitated a kit building event in Big Sky, Mont. Through our BKxKB project, Spanish Peaks members and residents joined us in their clubhouse to create 1,000 essential resource kits full of items for winter and summer for the full time residents that are largely living with government subsidies. The kits, containing a total of 67,568 items of care valued at $37,954, were distributed to Big Sky Community Food Bank.

“We want to thank SixDegrees and the Spanish Peaks Community Foundation for providing the Big Sky Community Food Bank, and our network partners, with such amazing resource kits,” said Sarah Bivins, program manager at Big Sky Community Food Bank. “The kits are essential for providing the extra support that many of our customers need and are filled with thoughtful and intentional items to help individuals stabilize. The SixDegrees team were exceptional partners; truly some of the most understanding, caring advocates for our community that I have come across in philanthropy work. The whole process was enjoyable, meaningful, and an overwhelming success!”

SixDegrees.org extends a thank you to Bombas and Dr. Bronner’s for being reliable Brand Partners and contributing to this special activation.
