School On Wheels With Ron Funches
This week Kevin reunites with comedian and actor Ron Funches, and their lively conversation covers a wide range of topics, from their past adventures in Costume Karaoke to Ron's experiences as a performer and a parent to an autistic son.
Special guest, Sinead Chilton from School on Wheels, join them. Sinead is the Chief Development and Marketing Officer and shares insights into the crucial work this organization does, addressing the challenges faced by unhoused children living in poverty in Los Angeles and beyond. Founded in 1993 by retired teacher Agnes Stevens, School on Wheels is a nonprofit that mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to provide one-on-one educational support to children experiencing homelessness, helping to bridge the gaps in their education.
Homelessness can have a devastating impact on children's education. Children experiencing homelessness are nine times more likely to repeat a grade and four times more likely to drop out of school entirely than their housed peers. School on Wheels offers vital educational assistance during times of great stress and fear.
