Founded in 1993 by retired teacher Agnes Stevens, School on Wheels is a nonprofit that mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to provide one-on-one educational support to children experiencing homelessness, helping to bridge the gaps in their education.

Homelessness can have a devastating impact on children's education. Children experiencing homelessness are nine times more likely to repeat a grade and four times more likely to drop out of school entirely than their housed peers.
